I am Loving this  new nail trend! With this forthcoming collection from Models Own you can have a fabulous colour rainbow happening on your nails. These are a tad different then other polishes out there, they are like oil-slicks in colours. and pretty complicated shades I might add. The Shades are made from combining four pearlescent colours into one to give a duo chrome finish. Though not really available till November, so if your done with Spackle & crackle, shatter and splatter, you maybe be in the mood for something new. There are five shades; Golden Green, Pinky Brown, Purple Blue, Aqua Violet and Emerald Black. And it's from the United Kingdom so for us here in the good ole USA, that makes it she-she Ala fabulous!.

HOT LIPS! Spring 2011

HOT LIPS!
What's New for lips this Spring 2011
CAPRICE
It seems that BOLD and BRIGHT lips are in this season for spring of 2011, It's been seen all over the runways, but this times with melon inspired colors like  Watermelon and cantaloupe. I'm not much for following trends per say, but I have to say I am loving  these shades. for example try STILA LONG WEARING LIQUID LIP COLOR In Caprice, amazing color, a watermelony hot pink that with make your mouth water and men want to taste your lips.

These Lips Colors are ultra-conditioning with Vitamin E and Avocado Oil.  You see Long Wearing  Lip colors aren't really my favorite, in the past when I've use them, I found that most of them, if not all, dry out leaving little bits and textures on the lips, not good when your on set and your actresses lips start to molt. These Stila Long Wear Lip Colors are a bit different, they Hydrate and seal in moisture so your lips look and feel soft all day.

Also check out these other fav's, FIERY, the perfect red, nothing more bold than a red lip. I like to use this color them blot with a tissue.  The idea behind it in the weightless liquid moves along with your lips, preventing  transferring(to a glass or a handsome man's cheek), feathering( we all hate that)and bleeding , so that your  lips are kissable at Amy moment.

PATINA
What I like is that its easy as putting on lip gloss, yet its  intense moisture, rich  and bold in color, yet matte and has a creamy finish!  PERFECT!!!!!!!!!! now go pucker those lips and start making out, you will see, your lips  will last the whole night long.

mykie xoxo

Available at Sephora and Stila

Post Script:  I am at the laundromat folding my clothes and it hit me. I just wanted to say, that even though trends, fashion and the designers and models of the runway say that BRIGHT & BOLD lip colors are the latest craze, doesn't mean you have to run out and start wearing a bright Cantaloupe lipstick.
Be yourself and wear what flatters you, not many people can play off such bright colors, Let's me honest maybe five people can and models that are in head to toe couture. I think wearing lip color that makes you feel amazing is so much better that whats the latest trend. And remember that!  Look for  my inspired  post on what lip colors are timeless and my personal fav's that I live by.

Yotam Soloman "BP OIL SPILL COLLECTION"

Yotam Solomon may have designing for the stars down to a science but the LA-based designer gets political this season with his latest "BP Oil Spill" collection. While the line has always called itself an "eco-friendly luxury line," Solomon is taking things to the next level; Not only is he raising awareness for the still unresolved ecological disaster, but he's also donating proceeds of the line's sales to the NRDC and Defenders of Wildlife. Taking inspiration from the spill itself, Yotam creates shoes that—though tasteful or not—resemble the oil-slicked feathers of stranded birds. Check out their website for more info on where and when to purchase.

Thoughts from The Trailor

So, I decided to start a blog and so far it's pretty cool, i guess a few of you out there read me and I do appreciate that, thank you ever so. I am finding my self  a little stumped at times, what to write about? what to review? New Trends?  I  have been sitting here thinking, i really don't follow trends. I mean, in the sense of being a scene stealer or a hipster.......I'm  just not  that kind of makeup artist. Don't get me wrong, I am a product whore  and  do try to keep up on what new and  the latest buzz, but that's what most of it is, buzz. So what if the package is cute, creative or unique? is the product stellar and does is do what is says it does? In my career, i seem to fall along the lines of , I make People Pretty and you know what? , that's OK with me. what woman doesn't want to  look pretty and if you can make her feel pretty too, then your doing your job. Trends come and go, but beauty is forever. So I try to just do that, to create beauty in every face I work on.  We all have our thing that's beautiful, I like to draw on that  feature and bring it to the surface. So  if you don't want to wear eyeliner,  don't . I don't use it all the time, I feel it opens the eyes and actually brings more attention to the eyes, makes them bigger more alert.  So i thought I'd write a free for all list of stuff I do and don't like regardless of trends and  fashions, just for fun and if you can take anything from it, then great, I'm happy i could help.

I don't like tweezing brows
I never use full sets of lashes
I prefer Black Mascara all the time
i don't always moisturize a face
I cut Visene into foundation to cut the redness
I believe in Bronzers
Now more than five individual lashes tops to each eye
I don't always use top eyeliner
I love lining the rims of the lower eye
I use mostly brown eyeshadow  all the time
i like light lip colors
i prefer gloss over lipstick
More blush the better
I still contour the face
I love reflecting light
I don't use lip liners that often
I prefer nude to coral lip gloss on everyone
Still like to line the lower rims with a pale yellow or white liner to open them up
use clear lipglass on eyebrows
Not fond of tinted moisturizers
don't use primers
I love to air brush men only
i hate to cover freckles on anyone
i tend to apply concealers after makeup is done
I like mono-chromatic makeup
I hate red lipstick
I must highlight every face
I use shimmer somewhere on everyone
sometime  clear lip gloss or balm is all you need
i use a tooth brush to groom brows
the first thing I apply after foundation is blush
fuchsia blush makes me happy
i prefer skin to be emollient
i sometimes use concealer as foundation
I like oil blotting papers

wow, i just kinda wrote what came to me and looking back at it, i have to say that , yup that's me. Now of course there are situations that c call for me doing some of this for what ever purpose. It was just an exercise in that there are no real rules in makeup really.
