BEAUTY FIX:  Two Common Makeup Questions Answered.

Q. How Do I Keep My Eyeliner From Smearing?

A. Make Sure to purchase a waterproof formula like the Revlon ColorStay Liner ($7; target.com); It hold s longer and is resistant to smearing.  Most eyeliners runs when introduced to oils on the skin, either from natural oils, bright lights on a set or in humidity.. Prior to applying, dab an eye-shadow brush into pressed powder (like, Revlon's Photoready Powder, $13; target.com) and gently drag along the lash line to prep the area and prevent smudging. This will helps soak up oils & help lock the liner in place. 

Tip: also try this way, after you apply the waterproof liner of your choice, take a small thin angle brush and bad a bit of color eyeshadow over the liner at  your lash line. It will help prevent smearing and ad a extra pop and dimension to your eyes.

Q.  I keep getting my foundation on my clothing, ugh, how can i prevent it from rubbing off?

A. Well, thicker, creamy foundations are more likely to be the culprit Thick, creamy formulas are more likely to leave marks on clothing, so go  for a lighter, oil-free liquid like Stila Perfect & Correct Foundation ($44; sephora.com). First use face primer (a great easy to get on is CoverGirl Simply Ageless Primer, $14; ulta.com) to help makeup stay put., I'm not that keen on using a primer but sometimes its necessary.Then when you  apply your foundation, make sure you blend it thoroughly. Then to set, lightly dust your face with translucent powder. (this is always great, Laura Mercier's Translucent Loose Powder ($34;lauramercier.com).

Tip: here's a thought, try matching your face foundation to your neck, that way you don't have to extendyour foundation so to not cause rubbing and transfer of makeup.  This is a common happening that happens on set all the time.

This is a personal favorite of mine, i have maybe 3 at all times in my kit. This is a signature color that I use on Brooke Burns , thou i do layer it with a light peachy shimmer blush, Using Radiance on the apples. IT'S A MUST HAVE!

BENEFIT/SEPHORA $28.00 Here's A Tip: want a fresh faced natural look?  use a tinted  moisturizer , just a touch  so to even out skintone, Apply say a nude shadow,( like Smashbox nude) its matte and will add a little depth to your eyes! curl those lashes and apply as much mascara as you want,but don't go all Tammy Faye on us,  apply your favorite lip balm and use Bella Bamba!  Bella is right!

What's New for lips this Spring 2011

CAPRICE

 It seems that BOLD and BRIGHT lips are in this season for spring of 2011, It's been seen all over the runways, but this times with melon inspired colors like  Watermelon and cantaloupe. I'm not much for following trends per say, but I have to say I am loving  these shades. for example try STILA LONG WEARING LIQUID LIP COLOR In Caprice, amazing color, a watermelony hot pink that with make your mouth water and men want to taste your lips.

These Lips Colors are ultra-conditioning with Vitamin E and Avocado Oil.  You see Long Wearing  Lip colors aren't really my favorite, in the past when I've use them, I found that most of them, if not all, dry out leaving little bits and textures on the lips, not good when your on set and your actresses lips start to molt. These Stila Long Wear Lip Colors are a bit different, they Hydrate and seal in moisture so your lips look and feel soft all day. 

Also check out these other fav's, FIERY, the perfect red, nothing more bold than a red lip. I like to use this color them blot with a tissue.  The idea behind it in the weightless liquid moves along with your lips, preventing  transferring(to a glass or a handsome man's cheek), feathering( we all hate that)and bleeding , so that your  lips are kissable at Amy moment.

PATINA

 What I like is that its easy as putting on lip gloss, yet its  intense moisture, rich  and bold in color, yet matte and has a creamy finish!  PERFECT!!!!!!!!!! now go pucker those lips and start making out, you will see, your lips  will last the whole night long.

Post Script:  I am at the laundromat folding my clothes and it hit me. I just wanted to say, that even though trends, fashion and the designers and models of the runway say that BRIGHT & BOLD lip colors are the latest craze, doesn't mean you have to run out and start wearing a bright Cantaloupe lipstick.

Be yourself and wear what flatters you, not many people can play off such bright colors, Let's me honest maybe five people can and models that are in head to toe couture. I think wearing lip color that makes you feel amazing is so much better that whats the latest trend. And remember that!  Look for  my inspired  post on what lip colors are timeless and my personal fav's that I live by.
