GET THE LOOK: A SINGLE MAN'S JULIANNE MOORE

STEP BY STEP: Get Julianne Moore's makeup Look from "A SINGLE MAN"

I was given a request to post on how to do Julianne Moore's makeup from the TOM FORD directed masterpiece, A SINGLE MAN. I will do my best for them and for you. This is vital 1960's fashion.
Very Chic and stylish. I'm my attempt to  create a step by step how to do makeup, i am going to be pretty vague on specific products as to let you play and create form your own stuff.

So here we go!

1. SKIN
Julianna's skin looks very natural as you can still see her freckles on her face. So try a Tinted moisturizer, make sure it contains SPF please. Then set it with some loose powder for a matte finish, i would suggest Makeupforever's HD Finishing Powder.

2.EYES
For your eyes start by using a pale eye shadow across the lid, you can choose how dramatic you want to go, i suggest using something matte finish, maybe try Smashbox Vanilla, MAC paints in Bare Canvas or the IT stick from Benefit.

a. again with a matte finish, take a dark shadow to the crease of your eye and contour to create depth leaving the top lid white. examples Sable, deep Purples?

b. Line the top of the lid winging it out at the end, i like Smashbox Limitless Liquid Liner pen, its amazing for doing winged liner. Line the under eye with a charcoal, brown or black liner and smudge just a taste.

c.  Line the insides of the lower rims with a white liner pencil, there are some great ones out there too.
MAC Pale Yellow is awesome.

d.  layer on your favorite mascara and apply a strip or a few individual for pop. start center and corners

3.  CHEEKS
I think cheeks are not center stage in this look so use something soft , a cream blush would be great, id say try TARTES Tipsy

4.  LIPS
And to top of this look apply a natural lipstick, nude or pale coral would be sweet. oh and i can't believe i am saying this but no gloss, try a lipstick  with luster.

There you go I hope That was helpful!

Black Swan

For BLACK SWAN, makeup artist Margie Durand & Judy Chin  created a dazzling  and stunning look for Actress Natalie Portman, The look is dark, seductive and  obvilously very stage worthy, but could you translate this look into something  wearable?  Durand  recomends going for something  like a 1920's  vamp look. "Create the smoking black swan eye with a slender ,silver line over the eyelid. Rim the waterline with black liner and top it off with full  feathery false lashes.

Instead of a matte foundation i think for a more wearable look a little glow would  be amazing. with this look you can go bols and smokey or simple and clean experiment!

Above, clockwise from left: CoverGirl Smoky ShadowBlast in Onyx Smoke, $8.99, available at CVSMAC Fluidline in Blacktrack, $15, available at MAC; NYX Lashes, $4.50, available at Urbanoutfitters;MAC & Marcel Wanders Lipstick in Digna, $22, available at MAC; NARS Sheer Matte Foundation, $42, available at NARS.

Lady GaGa goes solo for MAC's New Viva Glam 2011

So beautiful in this photo~ I may go Gaga!
Lady Gaga will once again be lending her famous mug to M.A.C’s Viva Glam campaign, signing on with the cosmetics brand for the second year in a row. The pop diva, who's previous appeared with the amazing Cyndi Lauper in Viva Glam’s 2010 campaign, will go at it alone in the new 2011 ads shot by Nick Knight and styled by Thierry Mugler creative director and Gagastylist Nicola Formichetti The  Songstress campaign with Mrs.Lauper was said to be the most successful ever for the M.A.C AIDS Fund, I'm thinking this  pop tarts solo turn will provide plenty of incentive for this ever-important cause. M.A.C.: WHEN ART SCHOOL & BEAUTY SCHOOL COLLIDES

 Mac Art Supplies

Pro longwear Lipstain Marker ($16.00u.s./$19.00 cdn)

available at  maccosmetics
A lightweight lip stain featuring the look and delivery of a colour marker. With its felt-tip nib, it goes on with precision to deliver a sheer, ins tantly abs orbed flush of colour that can last all night. Fills, defines and layers for more colour when wanted. No need for lip liner. All limited edition.

In general I would say that i am a lip gloss whore, I love all the different shades  and consistencies. I am not the hugest fan of Lipstick per say, unless its sheer, or filled with properties that keep you lips looking moisturized. I no likie matte Lipstick ,it no likie me! That said,  I do have to use it when requested,  ugh! Haters!
In the past  couple of days I keep seeing images of new lipsticks that have grabbed my attention, and  sista, i can't wait to get my  fat arthritic hands on them.

.The scene setters over at MAC have come up with a new line of lip products to dress up your pucker, MAC Art Supply Lip Stain. These  marker like, Sharpie's if you will, have Strong lasting power and one could paint the town red, eat a  entire pizza, drink yourself under the table, maybe a little necking in the back seat and this stain will remain! Out , Out damn Spot! hum, it's just not gonna listen..........enjoy and wear with flare!

  • Full of Flare is a brightened coral with a tinge of orange-red in it.  Probably one of the loveliest shades of the five I’ve tried so far!
  • Runway Ripened is a raspberry-ish red, but it’s still fairly red.  It gives good coverage and applies evenly.
  • Modern Mocha is slightly reddened coffee brown.  It’s not the most flattering color on my skin tone, but I could see some deeper skin tones using it for a natural lip tint.
  • Point of View is a darker and redder version of Modern Mocha.  It’s a rasberry-ish brown.
  • Purposefully Red is a vibrant cherry red.  I think this and Full of Flare are the best bang-for-your-buck colors of the nine.  If you love red but hate reapplying, bleeding, etc., Purposefully Red might be worth trying.
  • Sunset is a darkened, slightly reddish, coral.  This would look nice on both cool tones and deeper skin tones, because it’s not an overtly warm coral, which isn’t always easy to find.
  • Tomorrow’s Coral is a rich red with only a smidgen of coral in it. It’s definitely redder than I anticipated–I don’t think I’d have even picked up on any coral tones to it if it wasn’t for the name!
  • Style setter is a brightened pink with blue undertones. Reminded me a bit of Impassioned, perhaps, but more blue-based.
  • A Classic is a muted red–significantly lighter/les
