 MAKE YOU OWN TINTED LIP BALM

Are you thinking? I really need to  throw out all those  near-empty lipsticks that are floating around my bathroom cabinet drawer or better yet, your purse. Well don't toss them away. You can turn your favorite shades into amazing tinted lip balms. Talk about being cosmetically green.   Customize your color, the flavor and the scent and even recycle old tins and tubs to create  your ow personal touch.

~How Too Make Your Own Lip Balm~

Choose a container or a tin for your lip balm. Try using an empty Altoid tin [see image] or anything that will hold the balm. Make sure to wash the tins in hot soapy water and let them dry first.

 
Prepare your ingredients. The rule is two parts oil to one part beeswax. You may use any of your favorite oils actually, but try it with Almond Oil for added moisture  or Peppermint Oil for a fresh scent.


Melt the beeswax in a double boiler, ensuring the top bowl does not touch the water.


Once the wax melts, remove it from heat.


Add your oils and as much of your favorite lipstick that you want, remember the more lipstick the darker
the color will be.




Immediately pour the hot mixture into the chosen tin. Let it cool overnight before using it on your lips. Ouch!
