Wait a minute, you just turned me on to BB Creams and know your throwing CC Creams at me?What's next?  DD Cream? and don't even tell me what that's used for. I had  fought using BB creams in the first place, I was like, "it's just another cosmetics gimmick", the whole idea behind BB Cream is that
it's a kinda triple threat, it's a moisturizer, broad spectrum SPF and a lightweight foundation all mixed into one tube. On my last movie, I decided to give it a try, I used SMASHBOX BB CREAM, and I have to say I was pretty happy with it's performance and so was my actress Julia Jones. It sat really natural on here and she never appreard over shinny on camera.

So what is CC Cream? Is also know as Color Control Cream. It's a jazzed up and refined version of  it's blemish or beauty balm  predecessor, the BB CREAM. It combines various benefits all in one- color control, oil control, whitening, brightening, moisturizing and with SPF .  Developed in Korea, it's becoming a sought after beauty product in the US beauty market.

The benefits of using CC Creams  is said to include high SPF rating to ensure you skin is protected from those nasty damaging UVA and UVB rays! (sunshine). TIPS:  Tweeze away all those pesky stray hairs then brush hairs up with spoolie end of brush. Lightly shade color into your brows with the slanted end. To set, apply the wax thru brows with spoolie end of brush, i like that word, Spoolie!

DROPPING, THE BALM

One of the Greatest things about being a makeup artist, is finding new products to use on set with my actors. On my last show I was sent a few goodies from THE BALM.  Founder and CEO,  Marissa Shipman started her company basically in her kitchen. I wasn't too familiar with The BALM brand,  I had an amazing shadow palette that I was given years ago,, but alas that pretty palette has since passed on into makeup heaven. I used this on my actress SUMMER GLAU, on my last movie, HELP FOR THE HOLIDAY'S, where she played a Elf  from Santa's Village that comes to the real world to help a family re-discover Christmas spirit, and falls in love in the process. So I wanted her too look fairy-like through the whole film.

Myke's Tip: I used it in the corners of her eyes as well as above her cheekbones, and under her blush, just below. and a sweep down the bridge of her nose.

P.S.  The Down side is: this compact is very sensitive , pigment will shatter rather easy if dropped or banged. be careful

BOY OH BOY!

Cabana Boy is a beautiful  dusty pink Blush with subtle shimmers  and warm undertones provide a eye catching glow.  I mixed this in my eyes shadow and blush for Summer as well, its mixed well with my TARTE CHEEK STAIN in TICKLED. THE BALM $21.00

BENEFIT Creasless Eye Shadows in Busy Signal & Birthday Suit.
These Amazing Little pots of pretty are guaranteed to make you gorgeous as they line, shade and contour your pretty peepers.  This is truly a do it all shadow that doubles as  liner as well, multi-use is good right? These shades are blendable too so you can wear them sheer or as dramatic as you like.  These Creaseless Shadows have great staying powder, i mean, 12 hours on set in hot lights, perfect. great for the gal that seems to eat her makeup. I swear by them and think you will too!


quick tip: for keeping it sheer? blend evenly from the lash line to brow bone. For buildable coverage, let the shadow sit for hm, about 30 seconds then apply another layer.

TARTE cheek stain in tickle ~ 

Hands down this is one of my favorite blushes these days. I use this almost every time I do the lovely Brooke Burns Makeup. what I love about it is that its buildable and i can apply it sheer for just a kiss of color or over another color for depth.  It give the cheeks a healthy glow that's not wet looking, but healthy and  beautiful. Also these are made to wear on your lips too.  Don't let the color shade of the packaging scare you.  i was like, "this is grape, no thanks", but i gave it a try and look love forever.

 MAC  Pro Long wearing eyeshadow in Legendary Black [warm almost black]  I love this new to me unique eye shadow with it's  silk-creamy texture  thats' easy to blend and build. creates a smooth eye lids no matter how dramatic the application and last up to 8 hours

here's a tip: I like to use it as eye liner, mix a little water with your angle liner brush and glide ever so evenly at the top lash line, the almost black shadow leaves a more subtle, yet still dramatic look.
