How's Your Touche Doing?

I was first introduced to this concealer in 2005 by no other then actress Doris Roberts, I was doing her makeup for a film, OUR HOUSE and she requested it, so off I went to my closest Nordstroms and  picked one up. well from the start, i loved it. It's so  luminous with out being shining and blends amazingly to any ones skin.  In fact  my director of photography on our film said in his thick Argentine accent, " what was that? what did you do? " so you see the results instantly and it doesn't clog and build up under the eyes. back then they only had three shades, now the line has 7 and they're amazing.

check this out!

The beauty secret of the world's top makeup artists and models, Touche Éclat is the original must-have for a radiant, flawless face.
Capture 8 hours of sleep with the click of a pen. With a few strategic strokes of this award-winning complexion highlighter—dark circles, fine lines and signs of fatigue virtually disappear. Powered by the radiance-boosting Luminocaptide Complex, skin is instantly illuminated, so you look rested and refreshed—even if you’ve been up for hours. Sleek and sophisticated, it discretely slips into a makeup bag for quick touch-ups anytime. It’s the one beauty essential no woman should ever be without.

each one cost $40.00 but they last long and are so worth it!
here's a tip:  weather your a girl on the go or a fabulous makeup artist!  I find these work best when applied and blended with your finger. the warmth of  your body blends the color even and more smooth, for artist, i apply it where needed and have my actress  use a mirror and blend them selves....... gotta thank actress Jennifer Esposito for that one!

Jao Hand Refresher™ The first "upscale" antibacterial is an instant disinfectant and aromatherapy boost in one. Jao kills germs and freshens hands with ethyl alcohol (less drying) and our very own blend of antiseptic essential oils: Lavender, Tea Tree, Eucalyptus, Geranium, and Sage. Some antibacterials use a synthetic bacteriostat called Triclosan which is a known marine pollutant and has become controversial for its ability to give rise to bacteria that can become resistant. Alcohol does the job and leaves no residue to foster microbial resistance. Combined with cosmetic moisturizers and the essential oils Jao will not dry out your hands. It'll feel like you just washed with an herbal lavender soap. Jao. It's your portable sink!
This hand Sanitizer is the staple for most makeup artist i know, I have it in every set back , on my station and on the counter at home in the bathroom. it does the job well, less drying and smells like heaven!

So with that all said and done, i wanted  to give you guys some tips, preparation's and home remedies you can do to help ease that summer sunburn that you know your going to  end up with anyway.Check out below, I think you will find something to your likeing for various need.

    Four-Step Summer Skin Routine

    1. Cleanse in the a.m and p.m. If your face is greasy in the summertime (even if it’s normally considered dry), try a less hydrating cleanser than you normally use—like a bar soap—which will help control the extra sebum your skin is producing.

    2. Apply your antioxidants. The sun’s rays can induce damaging free radicals, resulting in fine lines, sagging, and brown spots. “Using a serum with antioxidants under your moisturizer, preferably one with SPF, can help absorb some of these free radicals,” says David E. Bank, a dermatologist and the director of the Center for Dermatology, Cosmetic & Laser Surgery, in Mount Kisco, New York. Some of the most effective antioxidants include vitamin C, Idebenone, and green tea. Try Prevage Clarity Targeted Skin Tone Corrector with Idebenone ($125, elizabetharden.com).

    3. Moisturize. “Don’t stop using a face moisturizer during the summer, even if your skin is oily,” says Amy Wechsler, a dermatologist in New York City. The hydrating ingredients (including water) in face creams help keep skin cells functioning properly. But if your skin feels slick, switch to an oil-free formula or moisturize only after cleansing at night.

    4. Use a lot of sunscreen. Unless your moisturizer has broad-spectrum protection of at least SPF 15 (see What to Look for in a Sunscreen), you’ll have to wear a separate sunscreen on top. Apply it often (every couple of hours), and reapply after sweating or swimming, says David J. Leffell, a professor of dermatology at the Yale School of Medicine. A shot glass–size amount (one ounce) should cover your whole body; a tablespoon will protect your face and neck. Think of sunscreen as the most important tool in your summer skin arsenal. We like the seven picks for your face and body that follow.

    Steps

    1. 1
Use the succulent aloe vera plant. Cut it down the length of the leaf and open it, revealing the inner portion of it. Rub the clear gelatinous part, over the burned area. Repeat as often as you like. This is better than most aloe vera treatments that you can purchase, because it's clear and you know what's in it. Use very mild lotion before bed at night to help keep the skin moisturized.
    2. 2
Wear loose-fitting cotton clothing that will not irritate the affected areas. Other materials, especially man-made ones like polyester, can rub very harshly against the skin and make a burn feel much worse. If it is summer vacation and you are able to stay at home, do so, and wear as little clothing as possible to keep it from hurting your skin. Try putting a soft cotton blanket over the couch or bed to keep your skin from rubbing against upholstery.
    3. 3
Use an anti-inflammatory agent like ibuprofen if you have a headache, slight fever or chills.
    4. 4
Noxema facial cleanser, sold in blue tubs, is extremely effective at removing the heat and the sting from a bad sunburn. Rub as much as possible onto the burned skin. Do not wash off; allow to soak in. Reapply as often as possible.
    5. 5
Use a cool, damp cloth with skim milk and rest it on the spots where you are burned. The coolness takes out the initial fire, and the milk creates a protein film that helps ease the ensuing discomfort.
    6. 6
Drink water, juice or sports drinks to replace body fluids. When you have a sunburn, you get dehydrated easily.
    7. 7
Bathe with tepid water and avoid soap on the affected area, which can cause irritation. Sometimes a cool or luke warm shower can take away the pain and itchiness.
    8. 8
You can also try taking a bath with green tea. The tannin in the tea draws out some of the pain and can soothe the redness.
    9. 9
If your burn is extremely painful, a spray from most drugstore/chemists with lidocane (a topical anesthetic) will help it be bearable until it heals.
    10. 10
You can make a paste from baking soda and a little bit of water and put it on the sun burnt area. Remove when it s completely dry and starts to flake. May help cool down skin.
    11. 11
Stay out of the sun until the burn fades.
    12. 12
Above all, the next time you are in the sun, wear sunscreen!

    Apricot Method

    1. Peel and mash 3-4 apricots.
    2. Apply the mix on your burn and leave on for 15 minutes.
    3. Wash off with lukewarm water.
    4. Once the skin is red and irritated, you can be sure that the skin has suffered damage. There are no ways to cure sunburn, but you can apply some remedies as a sunburn relief or prevention of one.
    5. Take a long shower adjusting the water to almost cool temperature. Once you are done taking a shower, gently tap it to absorb the water, do not rub it as this will increase the irritation.

    Vinegar Method

    1. Use a clean spray bottle and fill it up with ordinary every day vinegar. The smell almost totally vanishes from your skin after about an hour. Spread a towel on the floor/carpet and move any unnecessary objects you don't want sprayed out of the way. (For arm spraying try standing on the towel and lean over the sink).
      • Spray the vinegar on your sunburned parts only. Let it drip and dry. Do not rub!
      • If severely burned spray lightly again on sunburned area after a few minutes. You may pat vinegar after about 5 minutes if still dripping. Usually, the vinegar is dry by 5 minutes or less. After vinegar is dry, you can get dressed.
    2. Wear comfortable clothes which are not tight or covering sunburned area(s) if possible. The sunburn needs to be exposed to air and not covered.
    3. If you don't have a spray bottle, be careful and pour a little vinegar the cloth and pat it where sunburned.
    OTHER NATURAL REMEDIES

    PLEASE USE SUNSCREEN!
    • If the burn is very recent (still red and not peeling), use a tomato. Tomato juice is acidic but it doesn't hurt and helps the redness.
    • Apply a cold wet teabag to the afflicted area; put some warm water in a small bowl and put a teabag in it, then shake the teabag off and dab on. The moisture slowly evaporates off the skin cooling it, and the tea soothes the skin helps bring out the tan (wash the brown tincture off afterward).
    • Calendula ointment is also a very effective treatment, especially good for severe burns with blistering. You can find it at a naturopathic store.
    • Apply witch hazel lotion, a good aloe alternative.
    • Unless you have abrasions on the burned skin, try vinegar. Mix 50-50 with cool water, soak towels in the solution and drape over the burns.
    • When you have a bath, add ½ a cup of baking soda or some oatmeal to it. This will help to reduce the swelling.
    • Try aloe vera gel to soothe a sunburn. It may help ease the sting.
    • you can also put burn gel on it also with unkers and it will take the itch and hot burn away and as quick as possible.

    TIPS:

yikes ! i bet that friggen hurst!
    • Do not pick, poke, scratch or peel your sunburn. This will cause even more irritation. By picking off the layer of sunburn, you will not uncover a tan, nor will you make the "peeling" process go faster. Let it heal itself!
    • The first shower you take after getting the burn, rinse the area with warm, not hot, water. This opens the pores and releases the trapped heat in your skin. Keep the area cool afterwards.
    • It's a good idea to purchase a waterproof sunscreen and apply it liberally whether you think you'll be going in the water or not. This is to assure you're prepared for those "just in case" situations like a spontaneous dip in the pool or the jokester who thinks its funny to saturate the beach side observer.
    • Avoid wool or synthetics with sun-burn. You'll be most comfortable with no or loose clothing on the affected area.
    • Aloe Vera Gel is often effective, and feels especially soothing when previously cooled in a refrigerator. However, an Aloe Vera plant when split open and rubbed on the burn is more effective than gels.
    • When resting a cool damp cloth on your burns, keep it there for 20 minutes.
    • If you have a terrible sunburn and Aloe Vera doesn't seem to soothe it much, then try using Calamine lotion.
    • If you have open blisters on your burns, the best thing for it is to apply Bacitracin, 2 times a day. This will help with the healing and to reduce the chance in getting an infection.
    • When you have sunburn, a shower may make the burn sting. Until the burn gets better, it's best to stick with a bath.
    • If you don't know what else to do have a cool shower which can bring down the heat on your burn.
    • Do not let your friends touch or slap your sunburn. Although they might find it funny that they can leave a hand print on your skin, it will end up hurting really bad.
    • no whining! Whining while just make you think of it. try to ignore the pain.

    WARNINGS:

    • While sunburn is linked to melanoma (the most deadly form of skin cancer), regular sun exposure that doesn't result in burning still causes skin damage and increases your risk of other types of skin cancer.
    • It is possible, though rare, to have third-degree burns from the sun. If you suspect this might have happened, see a doctor immediately.
    • Because sunburns aren't the only problems the sun can cause, you should also check for symptoms of heat exhaustion.
    • Pay close attention to any medications (including herbal remedies and essential oils) for many of them have side-effects which include increased sun sensitivity.
    • Do not take a hot shower when you have a sunburn, for your sake.
    • Avoid using any creams or sprays with Benzocaine on your burns. The Benzocaine may irritate your skin, therefore you will become itchy.
    • When you have a sunburn, you shouldn't use Vaseline (petroleum jelly). This product holds in the heat, thus increasing the pain for you.
    • Do not break the skin or peel the dead skin off. This will cause more pain for you.
    • Just because you have a sunburn doesn't mean that you can't get an even worse burn. So, while you have it, the smartest thing to do would be to not go out in the sun. Going out in the sun will also make the burn hurt more.
    • Do not put ice on a sun burn. A good majority of people think it helps but applying ice to a sun burn is just like getting an "ice burn" which can be almost as painful as sunburn besides it only cools down the areas AROUND the burn.
    • Be careful of applying vinegar to open cuts or to areas that have been recently shaved. Vinegar will "burn" if applied to these areas.

    ALSO THIS:
If your skin begins to peel afterward —a natural part of the healing process—use a non-greasy moisturizer to soothe the area. Do not cover up the peeling section with a self- tanning lotion, because it will stick to the peeling skin and make it look worse.
Using olive oil on the sunburn keeps it moisturized and usually prevents your skin from peeling. rub on the burn till it is nice and moist.Don't try washing it off right after or it wont work. Wait a couple of hours till it doesn't feel as oily to take a bath or shower.Try using it after your bath when you are nice and dry.
Usually, sunburn does not require a doctor’s care. However, if you are running a fever, see a doctor, as that would indicate possible heatstroke. Here's a tip never put ice on your skin, people think it helps but it really doesn't. Its just like getting a ice burn. OUCHY!
